Skin Types

Acne: Acne is a common skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, leading to the formation of pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. Acne is most commonly found on the face, neck, chest, and back, and it can range in severity from mild to severe. While it is often associated with teenagers going through puberty, people of all ages can experience acne.

Symptoms of acne are …

. Whiteheads ( closed clogged pores)

. Blackheads ( open clogged pores )

. Papule ( small red, tender bumps )

. Nodules are large, solid painful lumps under the skin

Skin Scarring: Skin scarring is a common issue that occurs when the body’s natural healing process results in the formation of scar tissue. Scarring can be caused by a variety of factors, including acne, injuries, surgery, and burns. While scars are a natural part of the healing process, they can be unsightly and may cause physical discomfort or emotional distress.

Skin Pigmentation: Hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation are two common skin conditions that affect skin pigmentation. Hypopigmentation refers to areas of the skin that are lighter than the surrounding skin, and is typically caused by a reduction in melanin production. Hyperpigmentation, on the other hand, refers to areas of the skin that are darker than the surrounding skin. This can be caused by the overproduction of melanin in response to UV exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation, or injury. Common types of hyperpigmentation include age spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Rosacea: Rosacea  is a chronic skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It is characterised by redness, flushing, and sometimes small red bumps on the face, particularly on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, but it is believed to be related to inflammation and abnormal blood vessel function. Rosacea can be triggered by a variety of factors, including sun exposure, alcohol consumption, spicy foods, and stress.

Dr Platon Cold Plasma device –

For acne and oily skin, plasma is extremely effective in destroying P. acne bacteria, quickly reducing skin inflammation, soothing the skin, and preventing acne recurrence by balancing sebum production. It is one of the most gentle ways to treat acne (including teenage acne) and is suitable for 12 years and over (with parental consent).

The oxidative stress of cold atmospheric plasma has an antioxidant impact on the skin’s immune system. It reduces the damaging effect of chronic skin diseases – such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis and seborrhoea – which manifests in inflamed, irritated, dehydrated, and rough skin.

The electrical voltage between the freely charged particles in the plasma (electrons and ions) causes the cell membranes to disintegrate, accelerates the self-destruction mechanism of skin cells, and causes cellular division. The damage caused to DNA actually creates a “disinfection” process – the destruction of bacteria and fungi and the self-destruction of inflammatory cells and other damaged cells.
